this person is well wishing and i'm thankful for it, but i want to talk about the mindset that they had before reading my carrd and how this mindset is still prevalent in the som/nia community, and to others in the kpop community that maybe like dc lowkey too.

i have changed my tone considerably since i've started speaking about dc. i think long time followers have noticed that. in order to get people to listen to me, i've had to tone police MYSELF and speak in a calming and neutral tone when its not how i feel at all.

a lot of people, not just natives, feel anger in the face of racism and it's absolutely justified. they are angry because they dont want to see it. when i first heard about dc, i was tweeting angrily and making sarcastic comments.

it was because my emotions were affecting my points that people were dismissing me, reporting me, calling me a dc anti or just a general troll/hater when it's racism i hate, not dc. but because i expressed my anger, som/nias began to target that, tone police me, and dismiss me.

i've taken a neutral tone because i want to avoid that being an issue in the future, because i want to make my point abundantly clear, that its racism in the kpop industry that i hate, and not necessarily dc. but that doesnt mean everyone will feel that way.

thats why i think this mentality is a problem. when you use me as an example of how every native person should react, you're still silencing other natives. just because im a good lil ndn and u like that im not overly angry, doesn't give you the right to dismiss other natives.

so when you see natives making sarcastic comments, saying they hate dc and being angry, dont sweep them under the rug. we all process racism in different ways, and if they wanna be angry let them! if they dont want to forgive dc who cares! theyre justified in their anger.
