I started my Shopify store 3 years ago, and over the years I have relied mostly on apps to run it. Here's the apps I use and love:
Bulk Product Editor & Sync by AbleStar

My favorite. You can easily search and mass edit products based on any criteria you can think of. There's automated edits and even inventory sync from external sources. Invaluable. I use it to modify products in bulk as well as setup sales.
Bestsellers reSort

If you manage a big inventory store, this is almost a must have. It sorts your collections how you want to sort them, with options to promote newer products as well as sort by revenue generated (instead of number of sales).
EZ Exporter is my go to for exporting data out of Shopify.

Be that orders or products or anything else, with this bad boy you have a lot of settings on how you want to export data out. Including uploading it, scheduling and all that good stuff.
LimeSpot for personalized product recommendations.

I just find the options and data it gives to be invaluable and the recommendations are top notch. Pro tip: add the "most popular" and "trending" widgets on a custom page. Boom, you got an accurate "trending HOT!" page!
I collect emails with Woohoo. You know those games asking for your email that some sites use? They might look a bit silly, but holy god damn do they work. We found that giving giftcards works the best - even boosts out conversion rates dramatically. Plus, check out that CTR.
Here's another essential. Fera provides snippets you can instantly add to your store - or how I mostly use it: you can make your own. You can easily insert or change content, A/B test that as well as schedule or set rules for when that content shows. Saves a lot of time.
Here's a lifesaver: add tracking numbers in bulk with MassFulfill. It's free, fast, flexible and works like a charm. What more can you ask for?
And of course @LiveRecover @dennishegstad a sales team will SMS your abandoned carts, converting them with a crazy recovery rate. They will answer questions and make your customers 😍
And we'll wrap it up with something I am personally in love with: snapppt. A full fledged influencer platform. You can embed galleries (also product specific ones automatically), run campaigns to get user generated content and much more to come. It's awesome.
