This matter with #HongKong is very intriguing to me. The reason is, i cannot rationalize why China is going thru this agonizing way of tormenting everyone in #HK just to break 50 year guarantee & take control. Even #送中 was pointless for China....

Clearly, #ccp is breaking guarantee & nobody can do anything about it. ccp wants foreign businesses to carry on like it’s nothing to worry about but at the same time showing brutalities like mobster busting your shop while leaving you unharmed.

Just thinking out loud. Perhaps the sense of urgency is as simple as the rumor of imminent economic collapse or contraction. So if I were in #Xi’s shoes & I can see that I’ve got a huge military to feed but economy is contracting while I overbuilt for other countries...

I’d extort all the trading countries & at the same time cut off the middle broker, Hong Kong, and shackle foreign financial giants while I buy more time to stretch my long term gamble with Africa & South America & Southeast Asia.
