I cannot and never will feel any alignment to the @Conservatives, as a Christian I find it impossible to see their policies while in power as anything other than the complete opposition to the teachings of Christ. I am reminded tonight of the late Lord Howe& #39;s speech on 1/
13 Nov 1990, which I watched in disbelief. Sir Geoffrey as he then was, tore into Thatcher& #39;s policy on Europe, and destroyed her in the process. The speech is here: https://api.parliament.uk/historic-hansard/commons/1990/nov/13/personal-statement">https://api.parliament.uk/historic-... 2/
He makes so many good points on Europe which one would hope both the @Conservatives and @BorisJohnson might have learnt from, in what is recent party history. Cameron& #39;s rebuilding of the brand did nothing to reduce the Party& #39;s tensions, if anything, it tightened them. 3/
@BorisJohnson has learned nothing, and his success in taking the UK out of Europe is the worst disaster to befall the country in two centuries. Johnson is now PM, at a time of international crises, still pursuing #Brexit in the worst possible terms that will set the country 4/
back 50 years. He is incapable of handling Brexit, as has been shown by his government& #39;s failure to understand the #EU won& #39;t give in on their fundamental beliefs, it is what keeps them strong. He has failed abysmally on #Covid_19, using it still to push Brexit and fight party 5/
politics while thousands die unnecessarily. Johnson is unfit for office, as are the @Conservatives to be in government. They have failed the country in COVID-19 and in Brexit. As stated at the beginning of this thread, as a Christian I believe their raison d& #39;être is to 6/
is to take from the poor and give to the rich. I remind them of this: https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Matthew+5%3A3-12&version=NIV">https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/... end/
