Okay, since I've been... not negative as such, but realistic - I think - in another thread, let me outline my thoughts on what I want to see opposition parties doing right now. 1/
I want to see Labour Lib Dems, Greens, Plaid and SNP in a coalition to rid us of this current government. It could have happened last time but let's forget that and make it happen next time. 2/
The basis of the coalition should be
1) Universal Benefit - if this crisis has shown us anything it's that the current system can't cope with a crisis. UBI needs work on things like disability payments and other special needs but it's an idea whose time has clearly come. 3/
2) Electoral Reform - yeah, yeah, yeah you've heard it before. But it's time to rid ourselves of a system that gives an absolute majority to a party that doesn't even come close to receiving 50% of the vote. 4/
3) Carbon Neutrality as a *minimum*. Not just power generation, but investment in public transport, cycling infrastructure and decent recycling schemes. 5/
I'll stop there before I get too carried away. 6/6
