A thread Exposing Steven Gerrard, one of the most overrated players in Premier League history:
Despite playing alongside great players in his Liverpool career such as Owen, Alonso, Torres, Suarez, Carragher, Fowler, Coutinho and Litmanen, Gerrard has never managed to win the Premier League.
Getting sent off 34 seconds after coming on against Manchester United.. Passing the ball straight back to Henry again in Euro 2004, scoring an own goal in an FA Cup final, which cost Liverpool the match. And who can forget his infamous slip which cost Liverpool a first PL title
Another reason why Gerrard cannot be considered a PL great is the amounts of mistakes that he has made in big games. His terrible pass back which gave Suarez a goal at the 2014 World Cup, another pass back straight to Henry in a crucial game against Arsenal.....
A common argument as to why Stevie G is a PL great is Liverpool fans trying to say that he played in a poor team at Liverpool and therefore is excuse for him winning 7 major trophies.
This myth is blown out of the water when you look at his performances at England level.....
Let's look at the results of the World Cup's that Gerrard played in.
2006-QF Gerrard missing in Penalty shootout
2010-Ro16
2014-Group Stage Exit

Here are the World Cups before and after Gerrard:
2002- QF
2018-SF

..let's look at the players that he was playing with for England.
Terry Ferdinand Cole Lampard Scholes Beckham Rooney. All great players who have won it all at club level. Gerrard could not fit in with the talents in this team and often made mistakes costing England tournaments.
Gerrard is spoke about by Liverpool fans as if he played alongside shit all of his career and did everything all by himself. This just isnt the case at Club or International level. In fact, the only times that he performed was when he was carried by the ST in front of him.
Steven Gerrard is a player has played one of the two most successful clubs in English football, for nearly 20 years, alongside great players, who have won it all with other clubs. He has bottled it at multiple big moments during his career and lives off 1 night in Istanbul..
Alongside a few long range goals. He is one of the most overrated players in the history of the PL and should not be mentioned alongside the true legend of the PL. I mean, how many greats go out with Stoke City letting them score?

End of thread
Can Liverpool fans just agree to not compare him with Lampard?
