I’m taking it upon myself to raise awareness on SEMEN ALLERGIES aka seminal plasma hypersensitivity.

Yes it’s very possible for women to be allergic to semen AND for men to be allergic to their own semen.

Thread? Ok
First off many persons may have never heard of this because it’s classified as “rare” but clearly it nuh rare enough. 😪

Symptoms include redness, swelling, itching, burning and some whole heap a bump bump (see google for more formal and extensive list).
Some women may have this but mistake it for something else, this they remain undiagnosed and untreated. Symptoms range from mild to extreme. Mine are extreme which is what promoted an investigation.
I was diagnosed with it in 2013 and my OBGYNs’ suggested treatment was desensitization. So they would administer regular dosage of diluted semen to my body for a period of time until I’m able to withstand the undiluted one without any allergic reaction.
The catch with the desensitization method is that you’ll have to unprotected sex every other day so that your body still get use to the presence of semen. (That just scream breedings to me)
The other method is medication....
Another thing. I am not entirely sure but I would presume that the allergies are either general or specific to one persons.
