It’s time for another thread about the airline with the worst customer service in the US: @united

No. This is not about the money they owe me since loosing my luggage in DECEMBER.

This one involves MY CAT 😾.

Get ready to learn more reasons to never fly #UnitedAirlines again
It has been my understanding , with @united along with many other US airlines that any type of documentation regarding #VACCINES are NOT required while on domestic flights.

I have flown with my cat on #UnitedAirlines & other before and this has always been the case.
I have even traveled internationally with @United and the only reason they required latest vaccines documentation was for the final destination (not even for returning back to the US with my cat).

So what happened this time? Keep reading...
I traveled from San Francisco to New York in mid-March (in the middle of the #COVID19 #pandemic already). It has always been my understanding that @United charges an in-cabin pet fee, so I approached the counter at #SFO, paid my fee and flew to NYC. Same as always.
It is during my return flight where things went wrong in classic @United fashion. I was hoping to pay my pet fee and be on my way —but no: they requested to see my cat’s “papers”. I told them I didn’t have them since they were not required in my original flight (not ever before)
But no: @united said it’s in their rules and paper need to be previously submitted to their system?? 🤔 They were rude, would not cooperate trying understanding my situation, and didn’t believe that a United employee had let fly to NYC w/o it & that is my RETURN FLIGHT.
Everyone I spoke from @United at Newark #EWR airport were simply trying to get rid of me. One of them even said he “wouldn’t put the flight at risk because of my cat” — my 14th y/o senior cat without half her teeth.
All of @United employees at Newark were horrible —except one named Zoe, who is the only one that, knowing a supervisor wouldn’t do anything for me, suggested I made an agent write down in the notes for my rebooking that I should not be charged a change fee (given the situation).
Not happy w/making my life hell (and not caring about the fact my GF was due to land in SF at the same time than me and had no place to stay if i wasn’t there), one of these horrible @united employees still wouldn’t write the note Zoe had told me to mention for the flight change
Zoe had to write down the note themselves to prevent me getting charged by @United once more, which is the last thing I need after the pointless taxi rides I took, all because United can’t decide when to enforce “pet vaccine” rules. United won’t pay for any of this, of course.
With my former vet in NYC being closed and not answering the phone (on a holiday weekend), @united made me loose my flight & my GF was stranded at #SFO. So what did I do? She was able to get into my place in SF. I stayed and tried to find another vet open on Sundays.
But wait —it gets “better”: once I got my paper “in check”, I changed my flight over the phone ( @united wanted to charge me again, of course.) I had to remind them of the note Zoe had written. I paid my in cabin pet fee over the phone too & I came back to #EWR
And what happened? NOTHING! That’s what happened. I came in and they simply asked me: “when did your cat had the the rabies shot?” I said “December”. This is NOT actually true! My paperwork clearly indicates my cat has a medical condition that prevents her from being vaccinated.
My cat doesn’t have rabbies, & is immune due to previous vaccines, but given her condition, she could DIE if vaccinated. My papers clearly states this. But this was miraculously NOT a problem today. I wasn’t asked to show proof of vaccines nor a doc showing she can’t have any.
So much for the “strict in cabin pet rules” @united has for domestic flights. It’s all a lie, and they simply decided to make my day hell yesterday just because. No remorse. They simply made me, my GF and my cat have a terrible time & without any valid reason.
I still intent on complaining and getting my money back from the expenses @united made me have between yesterday and today, but I haven’t been paid for lost suitcases in December, so I’m not holding my breath.
Remember, everyone: @United is a terrible airline and you should know these things happen. Consider it next time you fly.
