for temp I would say this is better than the alt of nothing but yeh these dont work super well in the US in my exp. Then again they tend to be super motor centric so even yeild on turn does not work super well there (nor Canada)

I would suggest being as these are not normal a larger traffic wand(not sure on right term) with a giveway or warning cycles badge on it might just reenforce to drivers you cant just pull over. As in these setups that normally what I found drivers do

I also a little bit prefer this kind as the kind in the first diagram most motorists treat as a straight on where this kind they treat as a turn into a side street (which kid of works better but that might be yeild on turn mind set)
