I thought I had lost this. Senior year ('00) full-length screenplay. THE PROBLEM SOLVERS. About 2 opposing factions 1) THE TROUBLE MAKERS (meant to support chaos, fostering free will) and 2) THE P.S.'s (secret govt group adept at shutting down seeds of revolution).

The Plot:
In a very remote small town the town drunk hits a million dollar scratch ticket. He brags about it at the bar and unbelievably mails it in for redemption without signing the back. Word gets around: there's a million dollars in an envelope at the post office.
Both factions become aware of this situation (I forget how) and both dispatch agents to the town. One to try and get the town to break into the post office, steal ticket (trbl mkrs) and one to quell the unrest (prblm slvrs). They cannot reveal who they actually are (I forget why)
The town sheriff had a one-off pop song hit with a recording called "Rubber Bands, Paperclips, and Glue (Baby, It's You)" back in the sixties. It was an important plot point, but I can't remember why.
The agents maneuver behind the scenes with their cover stories and various small town dramas play out as a side effect of the two agent's presence. They do storm the post office and break in, but instead of finding the scratch ticket...
...they open up all of each other's mail and read it.

It got a B+.
