On a train. Found a wallet. Looked up the guy on FB. It’s his 30th birthday! Messaged him to say “send someone to meet me off the train”. He saw it, said “oh just leave it at lost property”. I said no there’s £230 in cash! He said it’s for a bike ❤️ His brother is now meeting me.
I realise this is not a great story, but I love shit like this. The times when I was young and in trouble - lost, broke or in danger - and complete strangers went out their way to help me. It made up for all the people who did the opposite. Also his brother is extremely handsome.
Just met him! He tried to give me £30 - his brother had told him to - but I just couldn’t take it. Otherwise what’s the point of basic decency if you get paid for it? He then came after me and kept trying - he looked astonished. Sad in a way that it should be surprising.
