I have had this motto for 420 days as of today

So, here we go: #lessons [thread]

1) Loyalty is important, but loyalty to people can be misguided and biased. It& #39;s better to be loyal to <values> rather than people. People can change based on all kinds of things, but if the people you are loyal to have the same values, you& #39;ll always be on the same page.
2) Hustle, hard work, effort — something I place a lot of value in — not everyone has an appreciation for, and yet many will take advantage. While keeping your nose to the grindstone will surely bring you good things, make sure you have skin in the game so that it& #39;s worth it.
3) Honesty is how I roll — I like to be an open book — but many people prefer to sugarcoat, camouflage, obscure, especially if it limits personal responsibility or negative reflection. If everyone you work with defaults to transparency, you won& #39;t have a break in communication.
I& #39;d say my old motto still stands: https://twitter.com/dessispavlova/status/960162888215400451">https://twitter.com/dessispav...
Being humble and having hustle will always be 2 things I admire most in the people I work with, while kindness has it& #39;s own level of importance.
4) But, there is value in being & #39;real& #39; — sincerity, authenticity, it goes such a long way, especially when working with a team.

Another lesson learned has to do with, well, scoring hockey goals

5) if you don& #39;t shoot for the stars, how will you land on the moon

5) if you don& #39;t shoot for the stars, how will you land on the moon
I have a deep appreciation for people& #39;s roots, where they come from, how they become who they are, and why they follow certain life paths: wisdom comes from experience.
6) You can& #39;t help your roots, but you can help how they grow. Appreciate the past: it crafts the future.

These two I need to remind myself of often, because it& #39;s easy to forget when you& #39;re wrapped up in work and life. Nothing comes for free, but certain things should be mandatory.
7) Ground yourself in your values.
8) Know your value.

Be real. Shoot high. Stay grounded.
