It should go without saying that I think this ban of @mtghofbot is complete nonsense and my already low faith in Wizards and OP is at rock bottom, but there are so many other things about this situation that I find extremely irritating
It irritates me how silent the MPL is about pretty much any situation in which non-MPL (and non-Rivals? idk) players might receive any kind of benefit or assistance. I get that it's not personal and they can't be blamed individually, it's in their contract to not be critical
It just speaks to how shady that contract is in the first place. To me it contributes to this overall vibe I get that Wizards is taking a lot more control over shaping how they want to present their competitive systems. Heaven forbid someone they don't like wins at their game
Austin's stream https://www.twitch.tv/PercsAlert  just now was the first I heard about Wizards offering medals (literal physical medals) to him, @nalkpas, @PeteIngramMTG, and @stainerson and I think that shit is so hilarious.
I can think of a dozen things, that would probably cost Wizards ~0, that I would appreciate a lot more than a fucking medal for coming close in a season, failing and having it cut short.
I hate how face up it is that Wizards doesn't give an ounce of a shit about anyone that doesn't contribute to their bottom line. If you don't buy their cards (the player base at large) or promote their game (MPL/superstars), you are nothing. Fuck everyone in the middle, right?
I had a pretty solid career that I'm proud of and not once did I ever feel like I had a single shred of influence about the game. Fine, whatever, no big deal. But this ban sends me the message that, even if I did, if Wizards didn't like it then I could be punished with a ban
