I rarely share my emotions on here, but this evening I’m really struggling.

My wife has several long term health problems. We have been told that catching Covid19 could be very dangerous for her.

So I have been staying in hotels and an Airbnb so she can sheild.

This is the longest we have been apart (7 weeks & counting) and we have no idea when I can come home.

We are both social, touchy-geeky people so she is struggling with loneliness. I have been visiting occasionally to stand in the garden and talk. It’s always bittersweet.

Throughout the crisis we have seen other governments keep their citizens safe, whilst our ‘leaders’ dither. Decisions have been late, ineffective and sometimes just plain wrong.

Amazingly we have only just started planning to quarantine arriving travellers!

The news about Cummings is the icing on the cake. I’ve just been to see my wife, driven away from home, and I’m stopped in my car to scream and weep a little before I carry on.

I don’t know what’s coming next, but I hope it’s a reckoning for the hypocrites in charge.
