I just noticed Caleb doesn't have a book stand in front of a pile of books, he's using the pile of books as a book stand. Beau is reading the deluxe edition of Critical Role: The Chronicles of Exandria The Mighty Nein.

The potion tipped on it's side a bit by the corner of the record player occasionally bubbles up and changes color from orange to purple (or back again).

The bird that flies past the window is an owl matching Professor Thaddeus' description. There's also wheat near the little boiling pot. The crest of the Empire is an owl and shafts of wheat.

Sometimes the amber sparkles. It's not tied to any source of light in the room changing. It's magic.

The magic circle lights up, and it's a really intricate pattern.

Caleb's old coat is on the chair. The copper wire in by his elbow. The cupcake has blueberries on it. The jar of sticks on the edge of the magic circle is a jar of licorice root.

Small clay cat's paw by the amber. It's the material component of Cat's Paw (reskinned from Maximilian’s Earthen Grasp, which requires a miniature hand sculpted from clay). There's also a Captain Tusk Tooth sticker on the record player. Incense sticks between the bottles up top.

Caleb is rolling a piece of amber in his hand. Beau is gently and swinging her leg a bit and petting Frumpkin. They're sensory simulations or stims, more common in neurodiverse people (but also in neurotypical ones). Or "fidgeting" when society deems it only minorly disruptive.
