a thread of terms/labels that are often thrown at nonbinary lesbians + why they usually don’t accurately describe our attraction and experiences
1. feminamoric

means “an enby person that is exclusively attracted to women” this label excludes enbies. I, like most nonbinary lesbians, am attracted to nonbinary people as well as women.
2. trixic

means “an enby person attracted to women, exclusively or not” this can include men and was created to be the enby equivalent of sapphic/wlw. This can’t be used in place of lesbian and was never intended to be.
3. gynesexual

Means “attracted to femininity or the female anatomy, regardless if the object of one’s affection identifies as a woman” this is transphobic and is often used by terfs.
- Also, this could include attraction to feminine cis men + exclude attraction to butches/studs. Again, not a good replacement for lesbian for multiple and very obvious reasons.
4. venusian/venusic

Means “nb person who is attracted to women and women-aligned people”. This is the closest term I could find that could accurately describe enby lesbians attraction but even then it doesn’t work as well because not every enby is fem-aligned and/or
comfortable identifying that way.

- Also, venusian is one of the less common ones and is an astronomy term “relating to or characteristic of the planet venus” that has been used dating back to atleast the 1950s and is the most common and well known definition of the word.
BUT if you wanted, you could still use “venusic”

- I also want to add that venusian/venusic was created to be the “enby equivalent” or “non-problematic version” of gynesexual. I’m not sure how many people would be comfortable with that so I’m putting it here so people are aware.
I also want to add that all of these labels (except gynesexual, don’t use that pls) are completely valid, and if you found that one of these more accurately describes your attraction than lesbian does, then feel free to use it!!!
This thread was mainly to show that these labels that are constantly thrown at nonbinary lesbians to use in place of lesbian, more often than not, don’t accurately showcase our attraction. Again, if you feel comfortable with any of these labels it is 100% valid to use them!!
