The biggest issue in journalism these days isn't bias. It's the lack of diversity. Newsrooms these days skew towards upper-class whites. I think the South Carolina primary shined a light on this issue. I still remember how surprised most reporters were by Biden's landslide win.
Reading the reactions from some reporters on Twitter, you would have thought that Biden's SC victory was an upset. If we had more reporters who looked like the voters in SC who handed Biden that landslide win, maybe it wouldn't have caught so many reporters by surprise.
One of the benefits of coming from an upper-class family is having the connections and the money to pursue careers like journalism. This is part of why I think it's so hard for minorities to enter this field. Let's face it: most of them don't have the connections or the money.
