Regardless of what you think of China, they're necessary in today's world because they create multi-polarity, which is incredibly important in order to make it easier for countries to escape from US imperialism.
My country is technically owned by the US.

76.49% of our exports went to the US in 2018, and 46.59% of our imports came from the US.

How do you expect an administration to bring socialism in a country where its economy is almost completely owned by another nation?
If México tries to create any sort of economic change, the US can just impose tariffs or sanctions and destroy our economy.

Not only that, if the US gets *any* sort of economic crisis Mexico gets incredibly affected as well.

Why? Because our economies are tied.
Imagine how hard it is to govern a country or to change things when your country is completely owned by another one, and you always have to care about what happens there in the US because you know that any decision they make is going to affect you.
This is why all countries care so much about what happens in the US in terms of politics because the US (being practically the world's police/major colonizer) affects the lives of everyone. So Americans don't have the right to berate us when we have an opinion on their politics.
Now, if México gets different economic partners (who aren't allies of the US) that makes it different.

Why?

Because, let's say, if México creates any change and the US gets angry and cuts trade, it is going to affect us but it wouldn't have devastating effects.
This not only applies to economic matters.

When the US tried to make a coup in Venezuela, Russia (again, regardless of what you think about it and this is NOT an endorsement) sent military units to Venezuela in order to protect it from any invasion. https://venezuelanalysis.com/analysis/14191
btw just to clarify, when I said that I don't endorse Russia I'm not saying I don't like their actions in Venezuela, since I find them necessary, I'm just saying I'm not in love with Vladimir Putin.

I just say it because some people just love to misread things.
