no one asked but here’s my current skincare routine
before i start listing products i have oily/combo skin, occasional breakouts, and huuuge pores.
y’all know my rant about oil cleansing, it helped make me less oily and also helped clean out my pores. if ur not doing this ur a clown.

i start with rinsing my face with WARM not hot water before i start oil cleansing. hot water is more likely to dry your skin out. when i’m deep cleansing i like to get high, take a bath, and work this in for like 5-10 minutes. otherwise i usually oil cleansing for 1-2 mins.
i specifically focus on my t zone and the bridge of my nose to ensure that i’m really getting my nose pores clean.
the heimish balm is pretty good, has some very light fragrance but feels great on the skin and doesn’t break me out (oils almost always break me out)

i rinse this off really good and then use this foaming face wash from andalou. i love this bc it isn’t super harsh and never leaves my skin feeling stripped. foam cleansers are the way to go imo. gel and cream cleansers seem to be a little too heavy for my skin.
i think any foam cleanser will work but this is a staple in my skincare. i’ve been loyal to this for over a year. i cleans with this for at least a minute to ensure i’m killing any bacteria on my skin. i make sure to rinse this product really well too, usually for at least 15 sec
all of the other steps are done out of the shower. i make sure that i wash my face after i wash and condition my hair to ensure no products are on my face before i start applying moisturizer and serums. & i brush my teeth before i get in the shower too to not spread
on my face

this is the most expensive part of my skincare BUT it gave me the most immediate AND long term results. i started using this shit and within 3 days my skin looked better. i put it on a cotton round and really focus the product on the bridge of my nose and then work outwards
from what i understand about skincare:
your pores don’t open and close. warm water essential helps melt the oils in your pores. like melting butter basically. oil cleansing then breaks down these oils and foam cleansing kills bacteria and lifts dirt.

i have been using face washes for YEARS but didn’t start seeing a minimization in pores until i added oil cleansing and this toner. my understanding is the BHA and salicylic acid further clean your pores. if you take one product from this list it should be this one.
even if your problem area isn’t pores, i recommend still toning with a cotton round. even though i do all of these cleansing steps, my cotton round always seems to get whatever dirt and oil is left on my skin.
after i tone i start applying my serums. i start with this niaciminide from the ordinary. another staple in my skincare routine. i’ve been using this for a little over a year.
you oily bitches NEED niaciminide. it helped with oil control IMMEDIATELY.

this product is really affordable and lasts a really long time. i typically only use 1-2 drops twice a day. great for evening out your skin tone and minimizing your pores also.
your skin may purge when u start this product. power through, i promise it is worth it.
