Fun story for your Sunday. Like very kid in Utah, I grew up obsessed with @utahjazz. My favorite player was Jeff Hornacek. He also just happened to shop at my dad’s grocery store.
For my birthday one year my dad got my favorite Hornacek poster signed by him when he came into the store.

“Sarah, thanks for being a great Jazz fan. Best Wishes, Jeff Hornacek”
This poster hung in my room through middle school. Then he got moved into my dad’s den where he kept a bunch of sports memorabilia he loved to collect.
As a grocery man, my dad got lots of ticket hookups for games from Budweiser, Pepsi, etc. My parents got to go to the All-Star game, and almost every Jazz game through the 90s. Even playoffs. If you know anyone in grocery, you know this is a BIG perk of the biz.
When I was a senior in high school, probably 7-8 years after this poster was signed my dad screamed from his den, “Sarah! Get in here right now! You won’t believe this!”
He pointed to the Jeff Hornacek poster. And there they were. My parents! Kimbo and JR! In the crowd as clear as can be.

Needless to say, the poster is still in my possession and one of our fam’s prized possessions. The end. Love ya, Horny.
