I *can't stop thinking* about that tweet about how we should never take "getting the truth out" as a finale in fiction seriously again.

I keep thinking maybe it's worse than that. In the spirit of fiction affecting reality, and all that.
I can't help but wonder if all of those films and books and shows where The Truth Is Revealed (and then we stand back and wait for someone else to do something to fix it) have accidentally eroded our ability to do the fixing.
When we started presenting the Reveal as the end goal itself, and not the turning point to inspire further action, when we decided that we didn't need to show The Work of making things better, did we make it harder to see ourselves doing those things?
We all do it: oh my god, have you SEEN what [insert terrible person in position of power] said/did now?? We're all happy to Reveal the horrifying truth. Hell, this thread is kinda that too.

But we know that's not enough. Blatantly, nobody cares. Nobody fixes it.

So how do we?
I don't have a good answer, really. I'm exhausted & flaky & neurotic and not the hero you need or deserve. I give to charity & help the homeless & support trans kids, and it is not enough. But I'm not in the right position to go overthrowing the social order.

How do we fix it?
