Motion for future historians to refer to the last 3.5 years as "the Trump Show." It& #39;s the "Obama Administration," or "the Bush Administration," or "the Clinton Administration," but it should be referred to as "the Trump Show," because little actual administering happened.
But man, that Trump Show sure got incredible ratings. Some people couldn& #39;t help but watch for the sake of their own safety. Others watched because they got sadistic pleasure from what Trump said and did to other people who they thought of as "lesser than."
But ultimately, the Trump Show of the past 3.5 years has been almost entirely about serving Trump...serving his ego, serving his bank account, serving his brand. Every action he took comes back to him, not to the country he supposedly serves and represents.
For the last 2 months the vast majority of Americans have made great sacrifices to contain the spread of the virus to buy the nation time to devise a plan for opening up safely. Trump spent those 2 months preening before the camera, spouting misinformation, and doing nothing.
My bad. Trump did do two things. 1) he held up our relief checks for a couple days so his name could be attached to them and 2) he sent every person a card with his name prominently displayed with basic hygiene advice that everyone knows about already.
100,000 people have died. The economy is in a shambles. The vast majority of us did our part. And still, the President doesn& #39;t even have an outline of a rough draft of a plan.
