I had another terrible covid stress dream--
(I'm in a crowded space with everyone I love and no one is wearing masks or seems to know we're in a public health crisis)
--so I wanted to manifest what I *wish* reopening looked like.

Clear metrics: "We will reopen salons when we have recorded a decrease in new cases 2 weeks in a row."
"We will reopen restaurants for dining in when we have no new cases for 2 weeks in a row."
Tempered expectations "If new cases increase during the first week of reopening, we will close those businesses again."
Material assistance"Every single municipal and state office and worker will be provided with masks, gloves, and EBT cards for anyone who needs them."
Targeted enforcement "We will target enforcement of these restrictions on the largest employers and corporations. Individuals violating restrictions will not be prioritized for any prosecution, fine, or enforcement."
Clear fucking evidence-based restrictions"Families of course may gather with other families who are similarly isolating.
Businesses MUST adequately protect their workers and patrons from infection.
If you are an essential worker, you will recieve all necessary protection."
