My mom made this for me when I was a kid, and I'm not ashamed to say that I made this for my kids when they were little. Supposedly, this is a struggle meal... but a struggle meal is better than no meal anyhow you slice it. https://twitter.com/dmarcushammond_/status/1263726085511897089
There's an argument in economics on how this works and there's some truth to it. It's inferior vs normal goods... it's said that as your income rises you tend to purchase less inferior goods like beans and rice and instead purchase more meat, fish, and fresh vegetables.
When you think about it, that's likely true for a good amount of people. I could be wrong, but it is my opinion that people like me from poor countries like Jamaica (or Mexico) eat a lot of rice and beans. Our parents had less money and had to make meals stretch.
Stretch as in making sure "we belly full" as my mom would say. I'd say that I eat more "normal" foods now than when I was in my 20's because I'm more able to afford it.

Either way, shaming people for eating so-called struggle meals is crap, so don't do it.
LMAOOO, I love that so many of you guys are in here standing up for franks and beans...

Okay, so first thing is though, you've gotta use Campbells, not Van Camp bc Van Camp's beans were...
