#Ogun's spiritism articulates time. It interrogates time-space as a loop, as wheels within wheels. Envisages the futures of Africans and the African diaspora ahead of time. Ogun erupts and brews into the nowness of the events that have characterized Africa's lived experiences
#Ogun is popularly known as the god-of-iron. Whereas, this is an abstraction of his liminality. Ogun is multifaceted & multi-dimensional (beyond 3D). His expertise and inventiveness cut across poetry, music, hunting, blacksmithing, road construction, medicine, mysticism, etc
Legend has it that there are about 7 variants of Ogun. Ogun diffusion & fluidity is a timeless and endless. With a peep into the future, he situates himself and his ideation for importation across the Atlantic. Markedly, Ogun is universal because of its #afrofuturism mindset.
Ogun's capabilities were already contributing to the shaping and engineering of Africa"s futures before colonialism. His art, crafts and technologies were contributing to emergence and urbanization of towns and cities, as well as their metropolarity.
Ogun like Ifa created effective thought and learning systems. In his heterogeneity he pedagogically trained his devoutees his expertise of tech, music, hunting, poetry, dance, custume making, etc. He prepared the Yorubas ahead of the Trans Atlantic Slave Trade. #afrofuturism
Whereas Ogun seems powerless to defend Africans from going beyond Point-of-No-Return. However; Ogun is aware of the future. Africans must follow the time-loop. Africans must impact the other worlds. Ogun and other African Pantheons must be known in the USA, Haiti, Brazil, etc
The imprints of Ogun transcend Africa.... It has migrated from nothingness to everythingness. It has erupted and modernised into new identities and categories in the Americas and Carribeans. His globalization and acceptability remains sacrosanct.
Ogun knows what is coded into the futures of Africa. He knows the timeframe now requires diasporic Africans to collaborate with Africans in the spirit of WEB DuBois & Marcus Garvey. This NOWNESS must be well interrogated and articulated with the technologies of #afrofuturism
