... which then got to his head so much his solution to ending the Korean War war was to nuke NE China with âsalted nukesâ and make the entire region uninhabitable for decades.
As in literally people were banging on his hotel door and he wouldnât answer. While whatever was left of US air power in Asia in the opening hours of WW2 were getting bombed on tarmacs across the Philippines.

The entire âI shall returnâ shtick was because every single fucking soldier under his command (both American and Filipino) was rotting or dying in the jungles of Bataan - which was HIS idea - while he snuck out of the Corregidor on a PT boat to relaunch his career.
MacArthur should have died in the jungles of Bataan with his soldiers or been on the Death March with them. End of Story.

Every single soldier under his command in 1941-1942 âfaded awayâ either from a Death March, jungle rot in Bataan, killed by the Japanese during retreat, or sent to a POW concentration camp.
