I’m about to be the grinch who stole Eid on this app so mute me min hassi.

Here we go:
Eid is only enjoyable for kids and men.

If you are a woman/girl over the age of 12, Eid is unpaid work.

God help you if you’re the oldest/only girl child in a family.
And Jesus take the wheel if you’re the only girl/woman in the house.

Can you imagine?

What is enjoyable about that? How do you even find the time to enjoy it? By the time you’re done working, it’s over.
I TRULY don’t remember the last time I enjoyed Eid.

Wala fil Sudan wala fil ghurba.

They each come with their own special brand of torture.

Ever gone to a mosque for Eid prayer as a Black Muslimah?

LOOOOOOOOOOOOL ONE UMMAH WHERE
But by far the worst is the people (women) who are lucky enough to be able to enjoy Eid, to just get up and shower and get dressed up

and come to you like “inti ma itlabbasti Malik? Washik da aghbash kida lay, ma 3amalti mask malik?

Labsatik di mush min alEid alfat?”
Eid is a nightmare for anyone with social anxiety.
