Consumer expectations have really shifted in the last decade.
We (as a whole) no longer want unobtainable and inaccessible icons but prefer those who we feel we can talk to, have impact on and care about us.
This is also very true in the adult world.

This is a huge reason I shake my head when cam performers tell me that Twitch tips mean nothing to them
That culture is really bleeding over, especially since there is a lot of creators killing it over there... by just talking in the IRL sections.
Audience demos match cam.

Expect to see the shift MORE prevalent going forward. ALOT of what twitch viewers love is becoming more in demand and newer performers are seeming to deliver that on cam sites at higher rates.
Pivots arent bad, just get ahead of the curve and you won't feel the pinch

That isn't to say do what you do not love. There are ways to avoid the hassles you hate but also still cater to your audiences. Boundaries are important.
You can also make the things you find more taxing available but limited to your 'preferred customers'.

Amberly, you just said a WHOLE lotta nothing.
If you aren't familiar with a twitch, there are a few things. Like Twitch raids, team-focused content, storylines but most of all... viewers talking to the creator not just during the stream.
There is a closeness in the community.

Community members actually talk with each other AFTER the streams and become apart of the marketing plan in many ways. They help retweet, post and even advertise the creator.
That marries well with the method of many cam performers.

Streams are also very calculated and curated for many top performers. Drama, intrigue and surprises are laced into the 'program' so that visitors still tune in. While we are a different form of art we can still use these elements, hell they are actually MORE effective in reality
Many viewers on twtich also return because of the rewards. They love the little badges of being known for being a top chatter, anniversaries of watching &other titles streamers give them.
You can kinda do this in cam now but many do but take it further! We sell validation.

And raids? SOO powerful. Directing your viewers to go to another room may seem awful in our industry but omfg it can be good. Of course only do it to people you know and consent, but you can send a boost of followers and viewers as you end. That can get someone way more seen
In the end, yes there are some huge changes in cultural demands and acceptance going on in the cam world and it totally steams from Twitch.
Those following Twitch trends will highly benefit in the next years.
