I am going to do a thread about what sponsors want when they consider to sponsor your event? Keep in mind, not all of them are after the same thing. Know and understand the brand you want to collaborate with for your next event.

Let’s do this...
Keep in mind, a brand does not owe you anything. It’s all up to you to present opportunities that can lead to a win-win relationship. Brands will help you articulate the benefits of collaborating for your event.
These are the basic factors they look at...
Brand Awareness:
They will sponsor your event because they want to get in front of their target customers (your attendees) especially when they are new in the market or introducing a new product/service.
Product Sales (or Placement)
For some brands, awareness isn’t enough at all that’s why some prefer to have their products/ service in the hands of their customers (your attendees) usually by offering free samples.
Getting these sponsors depends heavily on your ability to fulfill your agreement. Food and beverage brands won’t be interested in coming on board if they can’t serve their product to attendees, so make sure your venue allows this.
Reposition Their Brand:
Your event can help alter the public’s perception of a brand. This is where you need to ask questions when meeting sponsors about their goals & challenges. At the same time makes notes because you might discover a unique opportunity for them at your event.
Block Competition:
One thing we always forget to do is understanding the sponsors competition. Your event can help the brand get ahead of their competition. So check if your sponsors competition is sponsoring an event like yours.
It’s all about giving your sponsor a chance to reach their customer somewhere their competitor isn’t.
Social Responsibility:
This is one of the last motivating factors a brand/sponsor look at. At times brands will sponsor your event because it will align their brand to a cause/mission their customers are passionate about.
They want the public to know that they care about their fans and community. It’s not about you winning alone but it’s about a win-win partnership
Craft that perfect proposal that speaks to their customers through your event. A sponsorship is a partnership between your event and your sponsors. It’s all about understanding their needs and also how you can help them achieve their goals.
It’s a mutual beneficial two-way street...
