@backlotsfilm 1. Last night we watched a movie on Prime that was originally a TV show, Hollywood: The Great Stars, from 1963. It was about stars of the Hollywood system. Toward the end it had a segment on Marilyn Monroe and the press and I never knew how bad it was for her.
2. It reminded me of the fact that the paparazzi more or less killed Diana by relentlessly chasing her, and Marilyn was the same way -- they couldn't leave her along for a minute. Even when she was coming out of the hospital she was so miserable that she faced the wall...
3. And couldn't go any further, just apparently trying to get out to the car so she could go home. It sickened me. It literally hurt my heart what she went through. As far as I'm concerned they hounded her to death. I found it completely reasonable...
4. That she would commit suicide just to take the pain away. I know there are rumors that she was killed by the Kennedys etc. but looking at how she was treated by the press I don't believe that any more.
5. It may have been accidental overdose but in any of those cases you have to wonder how much of it was actually accidental.
