And now time for more doubling rates, because it's fun to do 🤓

In this thread I'll show the rate of doubling of #COVID19 cases in the top 4 provinces in #SouthAfrica, with a 14-day lag between nationwide events.

First up, WESTERN CAPE: cases are doubling about every 9 days..
The doubling rate of coronavirus cases is a measure of how many days it takes for the number of coronavirus cases to double. A higher number is better! The lower the number, the shorter the time frame, the steeper the curve and the faster the growth rate.
Next, here's the rate of doubling of #COVID19 cases in EASTERN CAPE, with a 14-day lag between nationwide events.
Cases were doubling every 5 days before #lockdown, but have slowed in the last couple weeks to about every 12 days
Here's a look at the doubling rates in KWAZULU NATAL:
#COVID cases were doubling every 9 days between State of Disaster (+14) and #LockdownSA (+14), but has sinced slowed to every 20 days, with curve on the decline.
And finally, the most populated province: GAUTENG.
While #COVID19 cases were doubling every 2 days early on, primarily due to imported cases, it has drastically slowed down since State of Disaster event to every 25 days, and not much change with #level4lockdown.
