Here's a spicy thread in conjunction with #PanVisibilityDay , also known as me screaming about how, no, identifying as #pansexual does NOT immediately make you bi-phobic or transphobic in the slightest
To start off, I already understand where a good chunk of the community is coming from with the whole "Pansexuals are trying to erase the bi community" thing thanks to misinformation, but let me be very, clear here in saying that, no, it absolutely is not
The term 'Pansexual' is under the bi- umbrella, and before I hear the whole "oh bi means two" shit, it absolutely doesn't, bisexuality is an attraction to more than one gender, as in all of them, every, single, one, so bi and pan mean the exact same thing in this regard
The difference between the two is, and this is going to sound real odd, that bi folks tend to think about their preference more than pan would (at least in my experience as a pan woman with a few bi friends)
To give an example here, my female bi friend leans more into liking women rather than men, and is very picky on what guys she likes, I on the other hand, don't give a single shit as to what the gender of the other person is, as long as it's mutual
Mind you this is all coming from a 19 year old dumbass that's been identifying as pan for around 6 years, and has seen ungodly amounts of infighting over who hates who, that the terms really mean, ect.
In summary, your not bi-phobic for being pan, your not transphobic for identifying as either, and just because you identify as either doesn't give you a free pass to shit on other lgbtq+ communities because you feel like it
To end this thread on a good note, stay safe, take your meds, drink some water, stay inside unless you really need something or have work, and happy #PansexualVisibilityDay ❤️💛💙!!
