The Indo-China stand-off across the LAC epitomizes the notorious Chinese behaviour.

The irresponsible behaviour shown by them has already resulted in a global pandemic and now they are back to their old habit of laying unauthorised claims over disputed areas.

A THREAD: (1)
China claims around 32,000 sq km area across the LAC, a small part of which was ceded to it by Pakistan in 1963.

The recent skirmish is one of the few skirmishes which have taken place over the decades. Thankfully, no bullets have been fired. (2)
China belives the Aksai-China forms part of the greater Tibet area, alongside the 90,000 sq km area on the eastern side (AP). India has its own claims over these two areas.

Back in 1960, Chinese premier Zhou En-Lai hinted at a boundary swap agreement. So did Deng in 1980. (3)
As per the agreement, India would have to handover the Aksai-Chin to China and China would surrender the Tawang region in AP.

Pt. Nehru had REJECTED this agreement in 1960. Over the years, historians and political analysts have blamed him for this apparent blunder. (4)
I only have one question:

If a thief robs your blanket and your wallet and offers to return the wallet and keep the blanket? Would you accept it? He would still owe you the blanket.

The Chinese claim over both the areas is completely ILLEGAL.

Pt. Nehru did the right thing. (5)
China's notoriety has resulted in them occupying virtually the entire the South China Sea. An illegal invasion into Indian territory is a cause for concern.

Moreover, China is rallying the Nepalese establishment to dilapidate the Indo-Nepal relations. (6)
China now lacks credibility in a post-COVID and is looking to divert attention from its failure to control the spread of COVID by unnecessarily feuding with its neighbour.
