#Trans eggs and early/pre-transition folks: Sometimes you have to make sacrifices in order to transition. That’s the ugly truth. And often you have to accept that things will never turn out just how you want.
IT’S STILL WORTH TRANSITIONING.
IT’S STILL WORTH TRANSITIONING.
We all want that magic wand that’ll make us “perfectly” transition in an instant. But such a thing doesn’t exist.
Transitioning almost always involves stepping far outside your comfort zone. Moving even if you don’t want to. Getting a job you don’t like. Whatever it takes.

It’s easy to say “I want to transition, BUT I’m not willing to [make x sacrifice]”.
You can do that for a lifetime, with only the value of “x” changing, and die dysphoric and miserable.
Or you can accept that transition is almost never without sacrifice.

In my case, I saved for a year or two just for my GRS, and DIDN’T PAY TAXES. I knew I’d be in big trouble with the IRS, and I was. It took years to pay them back! It also wrecked my credit rating.
Still worth it.
Still worth it.
On a more personal level, I also had to accept that I’d NEVER look like I want. There isn’t a surgeon on the planet who could undo all that testosterone did to my body.
But transitioning greatly LESSENED my dysphoria. Again— it was worth it, in spades.

If you want an easy, instant, “perfect” transformation into the body and voice and life of your dreams, that’s a lovely fantasy, but it’s just that: Fantasy.
Real transitions are almost always messy, slow, painful, imperfect things.
But still worth the pain!

You WILL have to give up things (and, sometimes, people) that you think you can’t live without.
You WILL experience pain both physical and emotional.
You WILL take risks to your physical and financial safety.
It WILL, at times, be deeply unpleasant.
But living a lie is worse.
