Kari called birth center at 5:45 am to see if they would take us in for labor induction appt. They wanted us at 7. Ok... shower up... game face. #BabyVanWechel

Kari was in the car before me for the 1st time ever. Arrive at Sanford at 7:05. Not like me to be late for anything. #BabyVanWechel

Cytotec administered at 8:40. Don't move for an hour.... let's soften that cervix. I have to pee, but so does she. Better not. #Coffee

Uncomfortable hour, but she made it. I did too, in case you're wondering.

That cytotec, er whatever it is did something. Contractions are much more frequent and painful. Should I dig in to my snacks yet? No.... I'm going to hold off. They would already be gone if I was in the tractor/truck.

Nurse offered up a blue slushie. I respectfully declined. Wait... being told the offer was for Kari. She accepted. That was her big craving over the last 9 months.

Wish the Tribe was on today. Always thought it was awesome that @dglur was able to watch the Wild when one of his 18 kids were born.

Instead, we're watching Sex and the City. If Carrie Bradshaw's annoying scream doesn't induce labor... I don't know what will.

Next check at 12:40 to determine next steps. Pretty uncomfortable. Wonder if Northern Tool has any good Memorial Day specials?

First pain meds administered... blood pressure more normal again. Feeling better... easier to rest. Vomit bag deployed... not utilized.

3 cm dilated. Pitocin administered. Doc is happy how the induction is progressing. I wonder how the Swedish meatballs are? #LetsGo

Vomit bag utilized. Blue slushie. Reminded me of the Chuck Norris days. Not thinking about meatballs anymore.

Full disclosure... Kari is doing awesome! She's in great spirits and joked about the blue vomit.

She utilized the air tub in the room. Started off great, but she got a little overheated and nauseous after 15 minutes. I ate a granola bar.

Finally getting a bit of a catnap. This is really good for her! Problem for me is... I can't move for fear of waking her.

Another good nap. Nurse came in and told me to go downstairs and get a bite to eat. Deal!

Would you believe the only thing they are out of is meatballs? Got a Reuben instead. Damn good too!

The hospital experience during this pandemic has been pretty great. They are allowing guests to leave, however, I likely won't. The halls are quiet... which is nice.

Epidural complete! She did awesome! Good God, that was intense. I may or may not have felt queasy and had salty discharges from both my eyes. Another check coming shortly.
