Something that has always confused me is what people consider "dating" or a "long term relationship"

Some people say "we dated" and it's like they saw each other twice. I've been on dates where I never saw the person again after the first meeting, is that "dating"?

And then long term relationships.... For some people that's a couple months?? That's like a 6-8 dates (for me, assuming every-ish weekend there's a date)

And every relationship I've had has been 1+ years long

I guess for me, I'm not dating someone until we've had at least a month of dates and talked about how we're official with it. Dating is weird!
