The first thing you need to do is find out the current value of the clean title used version of the car and then place your budget 20%-40% below that. Then you can start looking for accidented vehicles using these tips.
Avoid vehicles with front end damage because it could affect some parts of the engine, the radiator and could be more costly to repair. However, if you look and notice that it’s a damage that would require you just changing a part like the bumper, then you can go ahead.
Make sure you buy from a good platform for buying cars that would also provide you with the car condition reports such as IAAI, Copart (be careful with this one) and Auctionexport
AVOID FLOODED VEHICLES! They may work perfectly at the time of purchase but the problems are always there. If the deal is too good to be true, it most likely is. Be sure to check National Insurance Crime Bureau to ensure the car wasn’t stolen.
Most importantly, stick with body damage, or at the most, damage to the working parts. Stay away from bent frames, which, no matter how good a car looks after the repair is complete, can be a huge headache and can seriously compromise the car& #39;s safety.

Lastly, buy accidented cars and repair yourself. I advise against buying already repaired/refurbished car. This way you can monitor the repairs yourself, know the repairs you need immediately and the ones you can live with if you are on a strict budget.
