I need to get something off my chest about how the #AnimalCrossing

Back in 2013, I got my first Animal Crossing in the form of New Leaf, and it quickly changed my life. It became and still is my number one favorite game of all time over so many fantastic games I& #39;ve played. I& #39;ve met friends on the island that I& #39;m still attached to today.
I& #39;ve built up that town alongside my brother in such a way that reflects all the memories of me slowly learning the game and all the fun I had with the villagers, the ones I got attached to, the seasonal events, the friends I had come over, the late nights and early mornings...
So I became a massive Animal Crossing fan, getting city folk and wild world a year or so after it, and got the Happy Home Designer pack with the NFC reader day one of release. I even got the Amiibo festival pack too, and I enjoyed it *to an extent* with my brother.
These years later, I was Soooo hyped for a brand new animal crossing game and Beginning that golden experience all over again almost 7 years later, like I& #39;m playing the game for the first time. So Imagine my excitement when unexpectedly the game EXPLODED in popularity.
It& #39;s already beaten New Leaf in lifetime sales, and that game was already a best seller for the 3DS, so It was so cool to see Animal Crossing reach such a bigger audience and reach mainstream media. I no longer feel like the outcast as an animal crossing fan.
But here we are now. I already don& #39;t like how fanbases are out into tier lists and labeled just because a more often than not SMALL portion of them are bad apples, and I noticed that whenever that& #39;s the case for any fanbase, the whole thing is labeled as such (i.e. TTYD)
Like, do you think that feels good? That I& #39;ve seen Animal Crossing come all this way and wake up to see people say "Dawg the animal crossing fanbase is SO trash." Do you honestly believe we want to be associated with those people? They& #39;re 1% at most, but yet we& #39;re all trash?
EVERY. FANBASE. has people like that. Some are louder than others and yet they are compared to such great lengths. Can we stop that PLEASE? Once those screenshots got out of the people on Twitter doing things like making threats in exchange for Raymond or obsessing over him,
Suddenly so many people on the internet are bashing it and all I hear on Twitter anymore involving animal crossing is negativity, negativity everywhere. If I could& #39;ve foreseen this as a kid, I probably would have cried. I would be heartbroken. This is not ok.
To end this off, I& #39;d just like to elaborate on something. It wasn& #39;t till just the other day with the new paper Mario announcement that I suddenly heard people label TTYD for being "one of the worst" fanbases, and it wasn& #39;t even for toxicity, they just had different opinions!
Are we sure the immature ones aren& #39;t the ones seamlessly suddenly getting so uppity about what feels like an entire game& #39;s community because they don& #39;t like stock Mario characters as partners? Have we really gotten to that point?
Thanks for reading.
Thanks for reading.
(by the way, I would just like to say I didn& #39;t mean to limit or simplify the reasons why people had a negative reaction to the AC/TTYD fandoms, I just wanted to keep this thread as brief as possible, so please don& #39;t think I& #39;m being ignorant of the whole picture.
I& #39;d be happy to elaborate or extend it if someone so desires)
