the kpop label has only been used to alienate & dismiss BTS, both internationally & also domestically, while the kpop industry profited off their name and at the same time tried to drag them down

the stereotyping of kpop should be discussed, how much is based in truths & what's exagerated, or at least hypocritically targeted by those who don't see that the western industry is fcked up too, but that discussion shouldn't be to chain BTS to kpop so u can profit off them

++
fact:
the kpop label has only been limiting & damaging to BTS

It's not BTS' job, as one of the exceptions, to remain chained to its negativity so as to change the perception of it when so many companies w/ media influence, which BTS/BH lacks, work at confirming the stereotypes
& there's also a discussion to be had on how kpop stans at large are often complicit in the kpop industry's bullsht, which often, if not always, damages idols, while crying racism & whatever bs accusation they can think of that day when ARMY try to distance BTS from the label

+
BTS are artists and they don't mind being called idols, they don't care, but they have never caped for the kpop industry as is and have called it out, all it's vices and twisted normalized paradigms, since the beginning

kpop stans don't get that

+
bc they easily emulate what their faves' companies are doing:

dismiss & demean BTS & their impact while keeping them leashed to kpop so that the industry can ride their coattails

they know their impact, even if they don't admit it, and they can't erase that truly
there's a difference between BTS not caring about being called idols by some and y'all thinking that they appreciate the industry and like the kpop label, let alone the way all of y'all (stans and kpop/western industry) have used it against them

big difference between the two
Yoongi saying "kpop ain't a category big enough for me"

and Namjoon saying "you can call me artist, you can call me idol, I don't care"

aren't mutually exclusive, nor is the latter confirmation that BTS appreciate the kpop industry, the way y'all like to twist it
see? I just went on my tl & found this

this is what I mean when I say that kpop stans at large are often complicit in the kpop industry's bs & also some of the negative perception that other ppl have of kpop

1k likes w/ ARMY calling them out & it's not an isolated incident
