I’m just a Jewish enby, standing in front of my atheist friends, asking them to PLEASE SAY CHRISTIANITY WHEN THEY MEAN CHRISTIANITY AND NOT “RELIGION”

Many of you are- like me -escapees from toxic Christianity, & TRUST ME I know how easy it is to assume everything is the same. But when you make sweeping statements like “if we got rid of religion bigotry would be gone” you’re being SUPER harmful to minorities. (Also inaccurate)

I know you don’t mean to be offensive, & your ignorance on the subject of Religions That Are Not Xtianity is NOT YOUR FAULT bc we all live in a Xtian hegemony that affects the entirety of society in ways both blatant & subtle. But please *think* before you say/RT stuff like that.

Are you really saying that you think my people - whose fundamental ethos is “actively make the world better for others before we die” - should just ... stop existing? Being Jewish isn’t JUST about religion, it’s also about culture, but both of those parts are intertwined.

So please, when you mean Christianity, SAY “Christianity”, and leave us tf out of it.
