OK Tweet mu dheireadh! Last Tweet! It was my wife @WestlandMoira who is a nurse who suggested I post this one. Lyme disease from ticks is quite well known. There is however another thing you can get from tick bites which is much less well known. Its called Alpha Gal Allergy

And I've got it. Basically means I cant eat red meat. There is an article here that explains it well. Fish and poultry are OK however. Ticks are such a nuisance in the Highlands and Islands,i am sure there must be more people with this issue https://www.aaaai.org/conditions-and-treatments/library/allergy-library/alpha-gal

Note the article refers to the Lone Star tick which is found in America. European ticks appear to cause it as well. Just another reason to hate the things! Always try to cover up bare skin, esp in bracken. Not sure how common this allergy is tbh. Take care!
