I do not talk much about IQ despite being one of the few qualified to do so (I administer and interpret protected IQ tests). Everyone thinks they’re above average but even your favorite twitter guru is likely under 115 FSIQ (except @DeeperThrill his brain is a Ferrari engine)
First of all, full-scale IQ does not mean much, it’s the comparison of subscores that demonstrates how your mind works. Also, motivation is not measured in IQ tests. There is an enormous number of financially successful people with average intelligence
Secondly, the quality of the test matters. I once took a free IQ test and scored 144, which in reality is near impossible to measure accurately. Valid IQ tests are protected, and can only be interpreted by a psychologist. The gold standard are Stanford-Binet and Wechsler.
My advice: if you want an accurate assessment of your intellectual strengths and weaknesses instead of just ego cred, hire an expert. A good assessment report is multiple pages long, not just a single number, and will include recommendations to optimize performance.
And please do not waste my time insisting you or your Twitter papi is a genius. It’s really easy to say that. DM me the Stanford-Binet or Wechsler results and I’ll be happy to confirm publicly the claims are correct.
