[Thread] I make absolutely no apologies for the RTs in regards to the Dominic Cummings situation. It has deeply enraged me. I will detail why in thread.

Currently I live with my father. I am not in shielding group but still being cautious due to my disability and my asthma.
Usually, I have a Personal Care Assistant who helps me Monday - Friday with a variety of things PC related as well as stuff like shopping and getting to appointments. However, when the lockdown began this service was significantly reduced out of an abundance of caution.
It was eventually decided it would make sense to cancel it entirely until the lockdown was over at least. It would mitigate any unnecessary risk, especially with my asthma. My dad was working from home anyway, and he offered to take on more of the care duties for me.
As a result, he has been my sole carer for the last few weeks. He has been juggling this with his work, and at times it has put a bit of a strain on our father-son relationship. However, it's nothing that we can't laugh about later. We are in good spirits regardless.
As I said, I am not in the shielding group. I have been able to get out for exercise and my dad has been getting out to the shops. We're keeping our risk to ourselves and others as low as possibly can. My dad is doing a lot for me and I am so thankful for that.
Me and my dad are doing everything we can to mitigate our own risk, and the risk to others. We aren't seeing our families or friends, even though most of my dad's family (including him) have birthdays around this time of year. My sister is a nurse in Dundee. Missing her a lot.
My mum also works in education. She has been working from home for the same length of time. She lives a 1h30m drive from me down in Ayrshire, where I grew up. She also could have provided support for me, but, as I have been following lockdown restrictions, I can't visit her.
It frustrating that I can't, as it would give my father a chance for some respite. Staying with her would probably not carry any more risk than that which I face living here with my dad. However, we are all following lockdown rules closely and would never risk it or the travel.
When I see what Dominic Cummings has done, all I can think of is "How fucking dare you?" There are many people in this country who could have done what he did, for so many reasons, but have abided by the rules, rules that HE helped set in place. His actions are utterly abhorrent.
It is not fair that he thinks he is above these rules. To see the way the Tory government have come out in support of him too is sickening. I know that I would be rightly reprimanded if I tried to go visit my mum, even though it would benefit me and my dad.
Dominic Cummings, you're NOT above the law. You have shown contempt to every law-abiding citizen of this country with your actions, and you put individuals such as myself at risk by making it seem that the rules don't matter. The only thing you have left to do now is RESIGN.
So yeah, forgive me if I continue to RT about this.

Thanks for reading.
