seared into my brain is an ep where they all get misty-eyed eating soup out of a vintage soilder's helmet, in honour of d-day, and everyone takes it completely seriously. i think someone also made a dunkirk diorama with an edible beach and seared fish as landing craft

and it was all taken deadly serious as a sincere tribute rather than utterly foul. and every other year's theme basically boiled down to 'jolly old empire'
