The crash happened the day before my birthday, so already it’s a difficult one to overlook when the time approaches, but the effects of it run deep.
I’ve since developed what I call ‘range anxiety’ where I’m worried to venture too far without fear of incident or breaking down.

It also made me massively question my ability as a driver and played the scenario over and over in my head for easily a month straight.
I could see it in my head when I slept and no matter what I did in the dream, the same outcome proceeded.

It wasn’t truly until @GreatDrivingDay invited some of us to pop along for a day out driving where I truly started to trust myself again, which is an experience which not only allowed me to ease some anxieties.
Kindly, @LUDENClassics was with me for that too.

Since then, it’s been a slow but sure road to recovery and building up confidence over time.
Unfortunately, the world has had other ideas with plaguing every car I’ve owned with a hit at some point or another which has become a bit of a running joke.

I’m sure that the poor luck has been more random situations rather than ‘fate’ per se but the mind does wonder about its coincidence.
I’m very fortunate to have such supportive people around me, you reading this know who you are.

It’s been a tough ride recently, but I’m looking forward and very excited about what the future holds.
With the 944 series gaining great traction and @TheBackRoadsTBR reaching more records, I’m positive about this currently.

I appreciate that’s a long read and apologies if it clogged up your feed, but it’s something I felt was important to share, for my own sake and for the sake of others who have had similar experiences.
Cars are much more than an object, they can become apart of our personalities.
