Kids, if you& #39;re going to come for a doctor with actual academic and professional experience in medicine, over a medical issue, while you& #39;re not a medical practitioner yourself, make sure you& #39;re aremed with substantial data that& #39;s verified, tested and peer-reviewed. https://twitter.com/jvncnc/status/1264394159491694593">https://twitter.com/jvncnc/st...
Titles and licenses do not come with ivory towers and I am sure Doc @notbismarkymark will be more than willing to engage with you constructively, if you weren& #39;t such a douche.
Someone once told me that while "pasma" doesn& #39;t have a an actual medical equivalent, it& #39;s treated as an umbrella term that Filipinos refer to a broad set of symptoms which OBVIOUSLY don& #39;t just happen without reason. The language isn& #39;t equipped to have equivalence in all--
--medical terms but the term "pasma" is definitely a prompt for further investigation to pinpoint the exact cause, that would have objective interventions known already.
You see @jvncnc, if you spent five more minutes thinking about your tweet, you would come to the conclusion "pasma" is an interdisciplinary issue to tackle--non-equivalence of languages and jargon due to differences in culture, how medicine deciphers through these differences etc
Instead you soapboxed sans actual facts. Here& #39;s a search query of sone relevant papers regarding the phenomena, learn to read: https://scholar.google.com/scholar?hl=en&as_sdt=0%2C5&q=pasma+philippines&oq=pasma+phili">https://scholar.google.com/scholar...
And fyi @jvncnc I took the time to make this thread because I think you& #39;re an ass for blaming people just because you think you know better. Napakayabang. As an educator, I can identify that that kind of behavior means that you& #39;re in the UI quadrant of this learning curve...
...so instead of acting on impulse and attacking this tweet, or ignoring it and perpetuating ignorance, I& #39;m offering you what I think maybe enough of a prompt to rethink your stance and learn mo.
