Y'all. Constitutional law education. A ConLaw professor friend told me last night that in the 60s they removed from the schools the understanding that the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, & the Bill of Rights go together. πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡² Mini-thread πŸ‘‡
...to understand how to apply the Constitution, we must first start with the Declaration of Independence. The Decl of Independence, "when in the course of human events..." Is the start of understanding that many freedoms are protected by... πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡²πŸ‘‡
... That set of documents. (Many) People are hungry for regulation, because they don't understand that sovereignty as given by Almighty God and protected by the Preamble mean we were designed in His image and capable of making good decisions. πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡²πŸ‘‡
Remove God and you remove people's moral compass. Remove the need for the Preamble and you remove their knowledge of sovereignty and unalienable rights given by Almighty God. πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡²πŸ‘‡
...so the Constitution without the 10th amendment creates the illusion that we're seeing, that governors "have" all this power. YES, many people are waking up, but many still cry, "state's rights, state's rights," without realizing... πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡²πŸ‘‡
... That the governors govern their Commonwealths, rather than the people, because we are sovereign, and don't need to be "governed" (aka "managed")...
πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡²πŸ‘‡
...the governors are (supposed to exist) for the people, not the way around. We don't need to legislate every little thing, because God teaches us how to act and treat others.
πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡²πŸ‘‡
...so whereas we have a 10th Amendment, it doesn't exist without the Declaration, the Bill of Rights and the rest of the Constitution, and it doesn't mean that ANYTHING not legislated at the federal level...
πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡²πŸ‘‡
... MUST be legislated at the state and local level.
This doesn't get into any of the other topics like God in school, sweeping educational changes that were made, or egregious overreach by power-hungry local officials. πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡²πŸ‘‡
It says we MUST develop a MUCH clearer understanding of the body of documents which govern our land, and teach those, first to ourselves, then to others. I just bought copies and a kids' book to teach my kids. πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡²πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡²πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡²πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡²πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡²
