Are you focusing on them specifically, making sure you understand their needs & concerns by first asking them to identify top priorities & solutions? Are you ensuring everyone - your scientists, political staff, policy people & comms people - are basing their strategies on that?
When you deploy sandbags during a flood, you don’t throw the sandbags all over town. You don’t assume that the system that works in one neighbourhood will work in another, when the density/geography/proximity to the danger are completely different. /3
You look for who’s most at risk, you collaborate and assess the needs and solutions and you deploy everything you have at those spots. 4/
