i’m not even an army but here is a thread on me explaining what could possibly be the name of bts’ next album

carl jung, a psychologist best known for conceptualizing the .. concept .. of mbti, has created a model of the human psyche:

as you have probably noticed, names of songs and an album are on this model

there are 4 jungian archetypes that are present in everyone, and they play a part in how each individual sees life, i will explain each one (please note that i do not fully know this theory)

first is the persona, which is latin for mask. it is the side of ourselves that we show to other people to make us feel better about ourselves, though it may not be the real us. there is already a bts album named persona

next is the shadow. this archetype is a representation of the repressed thoughts of our unconscious that we hide because they may go against societal or personal morals. there is already a bts song titled shadow

next is the anima/animus. it is the perception of the opposite sex’s image in one’s own psyche (anima for males, animus for females). there is no current bts song or album with the name anima/animus

and lastly is the self, which is the representation of a person’s psyche as a whole—our truest selves. it is the embodiment of the 3 components of the human psyche: ego (conscious), personal unconscious (suppressed memories of the individual), and collective unconscious +

+ (suppressed knowledge of our species as a whole). there is no current song or album by bts with self as its name

now you’re probably wondering: how come there is a song called ego if ego isn’t one of the archetypes? either it was titled that by coincidence or because of jung’s belief that the persona is used to shield the ego from negative images

however, that is not what this thread is about. in conclusion, we can probably expect the next bts album or one of its songs to be named either anima or self

WAIT i realized that bts had a series of albums called love yourself. if whoever thought of the title had the jungian theory in mind they are a genius
