Lots of questions to answer like how far £280 milllion will actually go given it works out at around £50k per home which - without other funding also being allocated - is going to struggle to secure homes in large parts of the country (especially London)
Also are we talking about buying up almost built/new built homes? If so how do we ensure they are appropriate? What would be the impact of the bedroom tax? (your standard 3-bed isn't going to be much use here)
This is morally the right thing to do as well but let's not forget rough sleeping is the tip of the iceberg when it comes to homelessness - hundreds of thousands of people are trapped in temporary accomodation, sofa surfing etc.
If this is the big issue for the daily briefing today will be important for journalists to ask some questions on it
